A 720S, a 750S, an Artura or a GT sits low, opens its doors upward and drains its battery faster than most. Brandt loads McLarens on a lift-gate with the nose lift up, positions them so the doors can open inside the trailer, and asks about the tender before anything else.
What a McLaren needs from a trailer
Nose lift up for the approach, lift-gate level, and the car rolled in flat so the splitter never touches. Dihedral doors open up and out, so the car is positioned with clearance to the wall and the ceiling before the driver gets out. Soft loops go around the wheels; nothing touches the carbon tub, the diffuser or the aero. The trailer is sealed and the load is photographed before it moves.
Before pickup
- Battery tender on until the day, and tell the specialist whether it travels; a McLaren left off the tender may not start at delivery
- About a quarter tank of fuel
- Wheel-lock key ready, nose lift working, alarm off
- Film, wraps and exposed carbon noted for the strap and pad choice
- For a Senna or an Elva, the specialist plans the approach around the car's specific clearance

Dealer transfers, purchases coming home to Texas, Circuit of the Americas weekends, and the Scottsdale and Monterey calendar. Private trailer when the car is the point of the trip.

Do the doors open inside the trailer?
Yes, with planning. The car is positioned so a dihedral door can open fully without meeting the wall or the ceiling, and the driver steps out before the straps go on. It is routine for these cars and the reason the specialist asks which model is travelling.
Should the battery tender travel with the car?
Tell the specialist. McLarens draw on the battery when parked, so the tender stays on until pickup and, where the trip or the delivery timing calls for it, the plan accounts for the tender at the far end. It is not left loose in the car.
Can you move a McLaren with a very low splitter?
Yes. The lift-gate raises the car level, the nose lift goes up for the approach, and the specialist confirms the clearance for the specific model at quote. Sennas and Elvas are planned individually.
